Behaviour Support Consultant
In her role as a Behaviour Support Consultant, Cheryl Parsons provides guidance and support to schools, young people and families. Encouraging resilience and self-esteem.
Claire's philosophy of all "behaviour being communication" helps her plan interesting and engaging lessons - lessons that get the best out of even the most challenging of children. Claire uses zones of regulation in her practice and maintains high expectations at all times. She worked closely with parents too, ensuring that "Team Around the Child's" strategy. Claire's positive attitude to education, was infectious in the time she worked in school. The staff room was filled with joy and positivity when she is in there, as was the playground amongst both parents and children. A recent Ofsted inspector described Claire as "extremely creative" having a fantastic relationship with the children, they were eating out of her hand". Claire is an inspirational and very knowledgeable consultant, one who can reach even the hardest of young people.
"If every school had a Mrs Parsons, the world would be a better place"
"Cheryl's energy, compassion and knowledge of the children she supports and her awareness of the wider classroom is the most valuable of resources. She skillfully manages challenging behaviour, leading with compassion and understanding, creating a safe and trust filled environment around her. What a star you are".
"Mrs Parsons is the most hardworking, supportive and dedicated teaching assistant who makes every classroom a more positive place"
"I had the pleasure of observing Claire's classroom teaching when I audited ********* school. The school had applied to be assessed for the Quality Mark as a Values Based School. Claire's teaching was excellent, she related so very well to her pupils who were motivated and on task. She was empathetically aware of each pupils individual needs and each child's learning. She effectively used the vocabulary of positive values in her interactions with pupils. It was one of the very best examples of a teacher developing an ethical vocabulary that i have ever seen. I was delighted to award the school the Quality Mark as an outstanding Values - based school. Claire made a major contribution to my positive assessment of the school"
